El Tigre is an acclaimed short film that delves into the life of Ismael Laguna, a legendary Panamanian boxer and two-time world champion. The film takes us on a captivating journey, beginning with Ismael's mischievous childhood and leading to his serendipitous encounter with boxing trainer Chino Amon. It was during an impromptu match on the beach, where Ismael triumphed over tough-man Carlos Watson, that Chino recognized the young fighter's immense potential.

Notably, El Tigre received Honorable Mention for Best Short Film at the Ashland Independent Film Festival, becoming the only short narrative, apart from the winner of Best Short, to be recognized that year. This accomplishment led to the film being acquired by Shorts International Limited for distribution, marking a significant seven-year deal.
Additionally, El Tigre earned the prestigious distinction of qualifying for the Oscars, becoming one of the select 150 films reviewed by the Academy in 2017. This recognition further highlights the film's exceptional quality and its ability to captivate and resonate with audiences.
